Lân fan taal

In 2018 Leeuwarden-Fryslân is the European Capital of Culture. An important part of this is Lân fan Taal: a free state of all languages. In addition to 6720 languages, including Frysk, you will find street language, braille, gestural and body language, as well as dance, music and poetry.

Together with designer Anika Ohlerich, Studio Louter conceived and developed the concept for the spatial language event. At various installations you are invited to celebrate language and you discover the importance and significance of multilingualism trough multilingual prints, installations and interactives throughout the city.

In addition, we have jointly developed guidelines with rules of conduct, principles and design rules that monitor the visual identity of Lân fan Taal.
